Additional Gold Archival DVD Copies Help
If you require Archival DVD copies of your films, we use premium Verbatim Gold Archive DVD's.
Gold Archive media is ideal for long term archiving of your cine films as each disc is manufactured
using a unique dual reflective layer to maximise both compatibility and longevity. Gold Archive DVD's
contain a harder coating on the recording side to protect discs from scratches, therefore extending
the lifetime of your media.

Our High Quality DVD disks provide reliable playback and broad compatibility across all makes of DVD players
and DVD drives in computers. If you require an archive DVD for long term storage of your cine transfers,
we would recommend that you select the option to transfer to Verbatim Gold Archival disk.
DVD Gold Archival Transfer Help
We are one of the few transfer companies in the UK that use Gold Archival disks to transfer your films onto.
They are high quality recordable disks and are ideal for long term archiving of your cine films as each disc
is manufactured using a unique dual reflective layer to maximize both compatibility and longevity.
Gold Archive DVD's contain a harder coating on the recording side to protect discs from scratches,
therefore extending the lifetime of your media.
If you want extra copies of your films, you have the option of choosing standard DVD or DVD Verbatim Gold
Archival disks on this form or the calculator.
We can provide a safety copy of your cine transfer on high quality mini DV
tape or DVcam; this also gives you the option of editing your films at a
later date.
Mini DV is also an excellent way of safely storing your precious films for
the future with a tape capacity of 60min.
DVcam tape speed is faster and more suitable for subsequent video editing
with a tape capacity of 40 minutes.
If you are editing your films on your computer at home we can transfer them
onto your own portable hard drive in a file format for you to keep.
Just send or bring the drive with your order and tell us what file format
you require - PC or Mac. Alternatively we can supply your films already
loaded onto a drive.
If you are supplying your own
external hard drive please make sure that you have sufficient
storage for the amount of films you want transferred. For example a 400ft reel transferred to
a DV AVI file would use approximately 8GB of disk space storage. Your drive should be
supplied empty of media and formatted for use with any software disks that came with your drive.
We will then send the hard drive to you together with your films. You then
simply connect and download your files onto your computer.
Your DVD will include a menu with up to four navigation buttons per disk but we can add more
buttons to the DVD menu if required.Each button shows a still picture from the beginning of
the film reel selected and a caption containing up to 20 characters (including spaces) can
also be added.
When you send or deliver your films to us, just write down which film reel should have a
navigation button and the caption to go with it. If you want extra navigation buttons on
your DVD, you have the option of choosing them on this form or the calculator.
Add captions on your DVD Help
Your completed DVD can include a caption to introduce each cine reel as it plays on screen.
Each caption or title can contain up to forty characters (including spaces) of your choice to
introduce a special occasion such as 'happy Anniversary mum and dad' or to show a holiday
such as 'A visit to Rome 1968'.
When you send or deliver your films to us, just list your captions and which film reel it should appear in front of.
If you want captions on your DVD, you have the option of choosing them on this form or the calculator.
Sometimes film reel boxes are not be labelled with places and dates and it can be hard
for you to decide the running order for your DVD.
The 'TIME MANAGER' service will help. All you need to do is send your unmarked films to
us and we will send you back a draft DVD containing all your reels.
On the draft DVD a numbered caption will appear between each new reel showing where the
reels change. A simple form comes with the DVD for you to tell us the new running order
for your films. From your information we will edit the reels into your preferred order
and send you the final DVD.
If you would like to include music on your final DVD just tick the 'add background music'
box on the calculator before sending your films.
If you want to rearrange the order of your films, PLUS remove any unwanted sections of
your films and add captions then see our EDIT MANAGER SERVICE.
Sometimes film reel boxes are not labelled with places and dates and it can be hard for you
to decide the running order and chapter titles for your DVD. You may also want some scenes
removed completely and captions added.
The 'EDIT MANAGER' service will help. All you need to do is send your unmarked films to us
and we will send you back a draft DVD containing all your reels.
On the draft DVD a numbered caption will appear between each new reel showing where the reels
change. We also add a VISUAL TIMER in the picture so you can easily tell us which sections
you would like removed or even moved to a different part of the programme. This service also
includes the addition of captions at the beginning of each reel change should you require.
If you would like to include music on your final DVD just tick the 'add background music'
box on the calculator before sending your films.
